Platner is recognized for creating large-scale site-specific installations that examine pressing social issues--homelessness, war, and economics. Her work explores real world challenges and questions the status quo. Active in community service and retired from a career in publishing, she lives in San Francisco, and is currently developing a body of work in landscape and figurative painting.
